STP Phase 2

Just as we have become accustomed to Single Touch Payroll, STP is being expanded from January 1 2022.

Digital Service Providers are able to apply for deferrals meaning that you may not have to comply until January 1 2023. Your digital service provider will advise how and when to make the changes. If your solution is ready, you should start phase 2 reporting.

The changes are an expansion to the information that must be reported. That is to say, instead of reporting all income in gross wages, you will be required to break it down into paid leave, allowances etc.

The ATO will be sharing the information with Services Australia so they can streamline their interactions with customers.
